Dance of Sekapur Sirih, Traditional Dance From Bali


This dance is a dance that we often see when there are important guests coming toJambi. In addition to aspiring dance is also popular in malaysia as the compulsory dances to welcome the great guest between countries or regions. Dance combined with the accompaniment of music and poetry that is specialized for making guests feel honored with hospitality from the province of Jambi. Betel Sekapur dance usuallyperformed by female dancers, 9 3 male dancers, 1 person in charge bringing an umbrella and 2 guards. To support this dance is usually the dancers bring cerano/container that contains sheets of betel leaf, keris, umbrella and with the use ofindigenous dress of Jambi. Music accompaniment is usually used for harp, violinakoridon, tambourine, gong, drums etc.
